Capabilities Awareness Profile (CAP)
Overview: Meet the CAP, a powerful storyboard for empowering change in social-emotional skills.
Whether used as a stand-alone measurement tool, an integral part of a personal development plan, or an element
of team-building, the CAP will help you focus on what matters and demonstrate results.
Detailed Description: Developed over 10 years of research at Prairie View, the CAP
is unlike any other assessment tool on the market. An in-depth self-report measure of social-emotional
competencies, the CAP's simple and intuitive results engage clients, yet the powerful theory and science
behind the scenes gives you confidence you are focusing on what truly matters. The CAP has been published,
and is being used by researchers and practitioners around the world, including LSU Medical Center. This
training covers theoretical background, construction and statistical properties of the CAP, and steps for
interpreting and using the CAP to enhance client relationships and raise self-efficacy.
Perceived Competence of Functioning Inventory (PCFI)
Overview: Everything you need to begin measuring the social-emotional
outcomes of your programs. Get licensed as a certified user of the PCFI for children,
adolescents, and adults.
Detailed Description: Self-Efficacy, or a person's belief in their capabilities, is one of the
strongest predictors of behavior, and is increasingly being recognized as a principle outcome of
interest for leadership development, counseling and coaching, adventure-learning, and education.
The PCFI is a psychometrically sound, practical, and applicable outcomes tool to measure changes
in social-emotional competencies. Available in several convenient formats, including on-line, the
PCFI is being used by numerous programs around the world to document impact, demonstrate results,
obtain funding, and gain a market advantage. This course covers the theory and science behind the PCFI,
the basics of evidence-based outcomes research, how to interpret and apply PCFI results, and how to use
the PCFI as an integral part of ongoing performance improvement activities.
Prairie View offers on-line CAP and PCFI administration, scoring, and data
analysis and management services for our clients as well as ongoing support,
coaching, and training on how to build self-efficacy and maximize outcomes.
Our training method is diverse. Discussion, mixed media, role-play, brief lecture, and experiential practice are included.
The impact of these trainings is assessed through program evaluations, test proficiency, participant
interactions during experiential integration activities, and changes in PCFI scores.
Training is located at either our Legacy Park office in Wichita, Kansas or our main campus in Newton, Kansas. Newton is 20
miles north of Wichita and easily accessible via the Wichita airport. Hotels and restaurants are conveniently located.
